“The government not only give converter kit but also prepare the garage. In addition, because it is made in our own country, we also could ask free service for five years,” says Director General of Oil and Gas MEMR, Evita H. Legowo in press conference after inaugurating CNG for Public Transportation in Palembang (21/12).

Evita explained that the garage is one of government effort to ease taxi drivers and public transportation if any problem with their converter kit. The garage is hoped to assist the program works well based on the target.

Evita also reminded taxi drivers and public transportation to check their converter kit regularly in the garage and not to fix it by themselves. In some cases, the tube explosion happens because the drivers work on their converter kit themselves then cause leakage.

“If something happens, come to appointed garage to check it. It is dangerous because drivers work on it themselves.”

Besides distributing converter kit, the government also built 4 SPBG (Gas Station) in Palembang. CNG supply for public transportation and taxi is achieved from PT Medco E&P for 0, 5 MMSCFD. (AK)
